Dr. Adriana Carvalhal is assistant professor at the Department of Psychiatry – University of Toronto and Director of Medical Psychiatry Consultation Service at St. Michael’s hospital.
Dr. Carvalhal had her medical and psychiatric training in Brazil where she also completed her Master degree in Science and PhD in Medicine. She completed her research training at University of Toronto with a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto.
Her research work is in the field of psychiatric disorders in HIV-infected patients, neurocognitive disorders associated HIV, mental health and service delivery for HIV population, more specific for HIV-positive women.
