Dr. Sarah Joseph is a virologist and evolutionary biologist who studies HIV-1 evolution in the central nervous system and the development of persistent viral reservoirs. She completed her Ph.D. in evolutionary genetics at the University of Texas at Austin and is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she holds appointments in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology, the UNC HIV Cure Center, and Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.
